You know, there are always going to be those songs you love listening to, but never want to admit to it…sort of like a guilty pleasure. Well, this is one of those songs!
Enjoy and have a great weekend! π

Happy Monday! Enjoy! π

Actress and singer Judy Garland was born on this day in 1922.

I had another dream again about the cute, bearded guy. However, this time he stayed in my dream the entire time.
The title of this song–as well as the one by OMD (my absolute favorite, which if you read this blog, this song’s video has made an appearance once before)–came to mind when thinking about him. π

When I was 3.5-years-old, I used to watch summer reruns of the TV comedy series The Monkees. The show, as well as the two actors and two musicians–Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael ‘Mike’ Nesmith and Peter Tork–who starred in it inspired me in one way or another with the four constants that are still in my life today: writing (i.e. words), music, comedy and television.
Although viewers and fans of The Monkees may recall hearing the faster version of the song”I Wanna Be Free” in the pilot episode, “Here Come The Monkees,” the show’s producers ultimately chose to play the slower version of the song in numerous episodes thereafter. Personally, I prefer the faster version than the slower one.
The Monkees TV comedy series aired on NBC from Sept. 12, 1966 to Mar. 25, 1968.
So in honor of The Monkees 50th Anniversary…

In honor of actress and singer Kylie Minogue’s birthday…
Well, I finally did it. I completed my college career a week ago today! This journey of mine was a long time coming and I’m so happy and glad this part of my life is finally over!Β π
I’m also grateful to my family and friends, who were there for me from the very beginning and until the very end. They knew how important it was for me to finish my education and respected my diligence to my studies.Β π
My most proudest moment on graduation day came when my brother and my mother (as well as my father and sister too) were there to see me receive my degree. The last year has been difficult for both of them since they’ve both been ill. Actually, it’s been difficult for our entire family. Another proud moment that day came when I received two honors: one for Distinction by my school’sΒ Communications Department and the second for Cum Laude.Β π
I certainly intend to utilize my Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media, and intend to find a job in my field or one related to it (i.e. journalism, social media, etc.). In fact, I still dream of finding work in the area I am most in my element in. On that last note, if you’re familiar with this blog, or are one of my family members or a close friend, then I guarantee you already know where that is.Β π
My intentions are that God or a higher power continues to listen to my prayers in: 1) helping me find a job where I can best utilize my skills and experience in; 2) watching over my parents, siblings and other family members, and making certain they’re well (health-wise); and finally 3) allowing me to accomplish my other dreams and goals–personally and professionally. π β€

Happy Birthday to one of my favorites: writer, producer, actress, comedian and author Tina Fey!
