On Sept. 22, 1976, a new crime drama series called Charlie’s Angels premiered on ABC-TV and starred Kate Jackson as Sabrina Duncan, Jaclyn Smith as Kelly Garrett, Farrah Fawcett as Jill Munroe, David Doyle as Bosley and the voice of John Forsythe as Charlie, the Angels’s boss. The series ran for five seasons and was produced and Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg.

In 1977, just after only one season, Fawcett left the series and was replaced by Cheryl Ladd, whose character Kris Munroe was sister to Fawcett’s TV character. More cast changes occurred when Jackson left the series in 1979 and was replaced by Shelley Hack. In 1980, Hack was released from her contract and was then replaced by Tanya Roberts. Charlie’s Angels was cancelled in the spring of 1981.
