Born on this Day: Sally Field

 

Born on Nov. 6, 1946, Academy Award-winning actress, singer, producer, director and screenwriter Sally Field.

In 1965, Field began her acting career portraying Frances “Gidget” Lawrence, the girl-next-door, surfer girl in ABC-TV’s Gidget. Then in 1967, she portrayed Sister Bertrille in ABC-TV’s The Flying Nun. She then went on to star in many films, including Sybil, Norma Rae, Steel Magnolias, Punchline, Mrs. Doubtfire, Forrest Gump, Spider-Man and its sequel, and Lincoln.

In May 2014, after having a career that has spanned 49 years, Field finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  🙂
