Christmas Music Countdown, Part VII

This song was first released in 1994. Well, 23 years later, it finally made it to Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10.

This video rarely receives air play, but I believe this version is paying homage to the 1960’s. I’m certain this song will continue playing around Christmas time for two or more decades. πŸ˜ƒπŸŽ€πŸŽ΅πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ½

Christmas Music Countdown, Part V

I became familiar with this song as a child, when I first watched a rerun of the Christmas episode of The MonkeesΒ TV comedy series. The Christmas carol is a Spanish villancico (according to the Oxford Dictionary: a form of Spanish and Portuguese song with short stanzas and a refrain, originally a folk song, later used in sacred music) and I enjoy listening to it every Christmas. πŸŽ΅πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ½πŸ˜€

Actor, Singer David Cassidy Has Died

IMG_8023

Actor, singer, musician and author David Cassidy has died. Last week, he was admitted in to a Florida hospital due to kidney and liver failure. He was as 67.

In Feb. 2017, Cassidy appeared in an episode of Dr. PhilΒ where he had admitted to having been diagnosed with dementia, which his mother had died from.

Cassidy was best known as having portrayed Keith Partridge in the comedy series The Partridge Family, which ran on ABC-TV from 1970 to 1974. He became a teen idol, whose face was plastered all over female teenagers’ bedroom walls during this time. When he wasn’t starring as Keith, he spent most of his ‘free’ time recording albums and performing in concerts all over the world. Before he got the The Partridge Family role, he had appeared in episodes of Adam-12, Bonanza and The Love Boat.

Cassidy was a great singer and musician. Sadly, I never got the opportunity to see him perform live. I know he’s putting on one heck of a great show in Heaven. Rest In Peace, David.Β πŸŽπŸ“ΊπŸŽ€πŸŽΈπŸŽ΅
