I loved Howard Jones’s music then and even more so now! I’m crossing my fingers I can purchase tickets to a show he and OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark–one of my other favorites) are doing this summer with the Barenaked Ladies. ๐Ÿ˜€

Born On This Day: Andy Gibb

Born. Mar. 5, 1958, singer, songwriter, actor, former teen idol and younger brother of the famed Bee Gees, Andy Gibb.

Gibb rose to fame in the late 1970’s with hit singles like “I Just Want To Be Your Everything” and “Shadow Dancing.”

Sadly, Gibb died of natural causes five days after his 30th birthday, on Mar. 10, 1988.

Born On This Day: Karen Carpenter

Born on Mar. 2, 1950, Karen Carpenter was best known for being one half of the popular 1970’s singing duo The Carpenters, alongside her brother, Richard.

Sadly, Carpenter died on Feb. 4, 1983 due to emetine cardiotoxicity, due to anorexia nervosa. She was 32.
