Happy Birthday to actor Lee Montgomery!

Montgomery was a former child star, but he is best known for his role as Jeff Malene in the 1985 film Girls Just Want To Have Fun. He left show business in the late 1980’s and pursued a career in scoring music for films. Currently, he’s a realtor in the Los Angeles area.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite actors, Lee Montgomery!

Montgomery was best known for playing Jeff Malene in the film Girls Just Want to Have Fun, which also starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt, Shannen Doherty and Jonathan Silverman. As a child, he starred in such films as The Million Dollar Duck, Ben and Pete ‘n’ Tillie. He left showbiz in the late ’80s and went on to pursue a career in composing music for film soundtracks.

On this day in history: On Apr. 12, 1985, the film Girls Just Want to Have Fun was released in theaters nationwide.

This film paved the way for then unknown actors Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt, Jonathan Silverman and Shannen Doherty. Lee Montgomery, who played ‘Jeff Malene’ in GJWTHF and who began his acting career as a child in the early 1970’s, left show business about three years after GJWTHF was released.
