Song Sunday: The Monkees

I’ve always liked the song “For Pete’s Sake” by The Monkees. Peter Tork wrote this tune during the comedy series’s heyday. Micky Dolenz performs lead vocals on the recorded version, but Peter now takes the reins whenever the song is performed in concert.

The lyrics, “We were born to love one another, this is something we all need,” pretty much resonates with what’s been happening in the world today.  😦 We need to see less hate and seek more love and peace.

Quote: Ralph Marston

Every once in a while, I need to remind myself to stay positive with setting my goals so that I can accomplish my dreams. 🙂

“You’ve done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.” ~Ralph Marston

Born On This Day: Cheryl Ladd

Happy Birthday to actress, singer and author, Cheryl Ladd, who is best known for portraying Kris Munroe–sister to the Farrah Fawcett character Jill Munroe–in the ABC television series Charlie’s Angels.

Ladd also provided the singing voice for the Melody Valentine character in the 1970’s Hanna-Barbera cartoon series Josie and the Pussycats, and made numerous appearances in other films and television shows, like NBC-TV’s Las Vegas.  😀
