Liar, Liar…Pants On Fire

Have you ever felt like you don’t matter to people?

One thing I can’tΒ tolerate is someone who is dishonest and is all talk and no action. I know a friend of two people close to me, whose family is considered well off in the community, who resembles what I’m referring to.

I don’t appreciate someone who makes a promise to do something with you, but then doesn’t keep her promise. I understand you have other things going on in your life–like being there for your family. However, when you actually make time to join those close to me and hang out with them, well…it makes you look phony and it tells me you only prefer hanging out with those of the same social status.

I’ve moved on, but it annoys me that people can treat others this way. 😠 It’s like they really had no intention to be there for you and it tells me I never mattered to them.

When Life Imitates Art

This happened to me last week. I froze much like Samantha ‘Sam’ Baker did in this funny scene in the filmΒ Sixteen Candles. 😳 The irony is when this guy (aka Mr. Neighbor Up North) and I first ‘met,’ he smiled at me, which caught me by surprise because it was at an event where it was semi-dark. Then about a month later, I was shopping for groceries and saw him in the same aisle, so I approached him and introduced myself. 😁 We talked for a few minutes and then went our separate ways.

The day this scene occurred, it caught me by surprise again. I can’t explain it, but I do know this: The next time he and I cross paths again (intending it’s soon), I certainly won’t be at a loss for words again. 😊
