This Day in History: ‘Donny & Marie’ TV Variety Show Premiered

On Jan. 23, 1976, the Donny & Marie variety show premiered on ABC-TV. The series starred Pop singing siblings Donny and Marie Osmond.

Donny’s popularity first rose when he sang in a group with his older brothers and released such singles as “One Bad Apple” and “Down By The Lazy River.” He then went on to have a solo career and released hit songs like “Puppy Love” and “Go Away Little Girl.” Marie’s first hit song came at the age of 13 when she released the single “Paper Roses,” which reached #1 on the Billboard Country Music charts.

And the rest is HIStory and HERstory! 😀 🙂

Happy New Year, 2017

2016 was one heck of a year! :/ It entailed lots of learning and growing into a new role in my family with regards to my parents and brother. It has also meant making some sacrifices and encountering some challenges–professionally and personally. It’s been a very stressful year, one filled with sadness and happiness. I intend to remain optimistic that things will get better in the new year.

I’m intending that 2017 will be filled with new opportunities, experiences and meeting new people. I also pray for good health (especially for my family), many blessings, happiness, love, laughter and much more for everyone else–including myself and all of you. 🎉 😀 🎊 ❤
