March 31 will mark 20 years since Grammy Award-winning singer Selena Quintanilla’s tragic death. The City of Corpus Christi, TX plans to honor its most famous resident during a two-day festival April 17-18. Selena was born Apr. 16, 1971.
The ‘Fiesta de la Flor’ is named after one of Quintanilla’s hit songs, “Como La Flor.” The festival is expected to bring in about $1 million into the local economy.
Today’s Man Crush Monday honor goes to New Zealand actor Karl Urban, who is best known for his work as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in the Star Trek film franchise.
Urban as appeared in many other films and television shows. He recently starred in the FOX drama Almost Human and has appeared in films, like The Bourne Supremacy, The Lord of the Rings series and in The Chronicles of Riddick. He will star alongside James Marsden, Eric Stonestreet and Wentworth Miller in the new film The Loft, and will reprise his role as “Bones” in the Star Trek 3 film, which is slated for release in 2016.
I just have one question. What is up with New Zealand…importing all the hot ‘Kiwis’ to the U.S.? First Martin Henderson and now Karl Urban! 😉

I just found out my grades for the fall 2014 semester. I got three A’s! Disclaimer: I actually received two A’s and one A-. I seriously can’t recall the last time I received a grade with a minus in it.
What I find ironic about the course I received the minus in was that this was the only course I never missed a day of all semester!
I am now counting down the months until my last semester (I have two more left) and until I finally receive my degree (in about 11 months)! 🙂

Today’s MCM honor goes to actor Jesse Bradford.
Bradford has starred in numerous films, including Flags of Our Fathers, Bring It On, Romeo+Juliet, Swimfan and Badge of Honor, which also stars Martin Sheen and Mena Suvari. Badge of Honor will be released in 2015.
He’s also appeared in several television shows, including NBC’s The West Wing and Guys With Kids.
Bradford has many other talents, including: playing one mean guitar, having great taste in music (according to his Instagram) and has a great first name. 😉
